WHEREAS the municipality of the Corporation of the Township of Warwick recently experienced a significant weather event resulting in flooding on August 23, 2023, and has experienced incremental operating and capital costs, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Warwick hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to activate the Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance program; FURTHER THAT Amanda Gubbels, CAO/Clerk, is given delegated authority to verify and attest to the accuracy of the attached claim. -

THAT Warwick Township Council direct Mayor Todd Case to complete the process to terminate the emergency declaration in place as of 12 noon on August 24, 2023, as a result of the significant weather event on August 23, 2023, when the following actions are completed: - Completion of safety assessment on structure on Zion Line to determine if road can be reopened/scope of repairs required, and - Reopening of all municipal roadways (with the exception of Zion Line); AND THAT notification of the termination of the emergency be communicated to the Province, the County of Lambton, all County municipalities, and the public. -
