WHEREAS supply delivery delays due to COVID-19 have caused delays in the potential reopening of the Watford Arena from the construction of the East Lambton Community Complex (ELCC) in time for the installation of summer ice in August to support this ice season; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Warwick wish to pursue every opportunity to provide service continuation for local ice users despite the materials and related construction delays on the ELCC; THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick directs Administration to explore partnership opportunities with Brooke-Alvinston and to enter into an agreement with Brooke-Alvinston to provide summer and early fall ice to the users of both municipalities for the 2021/2022 season; AND THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick partner with Brooke-Alvinston to submit a joint request to the Brooke-Alvinston Watford Fall Fair Board to exempt the ice surface only from the agreement between the Municipality of Brooke-Alvinston and the Fair Board for one year so that Brooke-Alvinston can install summer ice this season and support all users from both municipalities. -
