Regular Council

THAT the Council minutes from the February 3, 2025 regular meeting be approved. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves a change to the start time of the Special Council meeting on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. -

THAT the Engagement Letter and Audit Service Plan from MNP be received and filed. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves the Accounts Payable as presented. -

THAT the following items be received and filed:  Correspondence Items 02-24 to 02-29 and 02-31 to 02-46  Minutes of the Heritage & Historical Committee meeting on February 19, 2025 -

THAT Warwick Township Council supports and endorses correspondence item 02-30 from the Town of Fort Frances regarding the Sovereignty of Canada. -

THAT Warwick Township Council supports and endorses correspondence item 02-47 - Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus regarding Negotiations with the United States Government on Trade Tariffs. -

THAT correspondence item 02-48 be received and filed as information. -

THAT Council approves the inclusion of a Damage Deposit Fee applicable for all Special Events and or Licensed events within Municipal facilities to the Townships Fees for Service; AND THAT Council directs staff to add the Damage Deposit Fee to the current Fees For Service By-law. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves the quote as supplied by McKenzie & Henderson Ltd. at $18.14 Per Tonne to supply and deliver a minimum of 26,000 tonnes of maintenance gravel to The Township of Warwick unpaved roads. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves the recommendation of Spriet Associates to award L82 Construction Limited., the contract for the Confederation Line and Sunset Ave Reconstruction for $3,399,985.74 (Excluding HST). -

THAT staff be directed to obtain a legal opinion regarding parking facing the wrong way and bring a report back to Council. -

THAT the 2025 Budget be lifted from the table. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves $900,000 to complete the Brick Yard Line road construction project from Elarton Road to Nauvoo Road. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves a municipal tax rate increase of 4.8%; AND THAT the 2025 Budget for the Township of Warwick be approved as presented. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves the formation of a Fire Committee; AND THAT Councillors John Couwenberg and Jerry Westgate be appointed to the committee. -

THAT Warwick Township Council move into an In Camera meeting of Council pursuant to Section 239 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, for the following reasons: ii) A matter regarding personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Section 239(2)(b); -

THAT Warwick Township Council reconvene in Open Session. -

THAT the In Camera minutes from the Regular Council meeting of February 3, 2025 be approved. -

THAT By-law 8 of 2025 be read a first, second and third time and finally passed. -

THAT Warwick Township Council hereby adjourns. -
