Regular Council

THAT Councillor Jackie Rombouts be named as Acting Chair for the meeting. -

THAT the Council minutes from the February 6, 2017 regular meeting be approved. -

THAT the Accounts Payable in the amount of $290,219.22 be accepted for payment as presented and the GL report presented on March 6, 2017 be received and filed. -

THAT the Township of Warwick purchase the annual membership again. -

THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick support resolution 2017-01-027 passed by the Corporation of the Municipality of Neebing on February 1, 2017 to request the Premier, the Minister of Finance and the Legislature, when considering the policies associated with carbon taxes and carbon tax credits, to accrue any carbon tax credits applicable to tax-exempt private properties within Ontario municipalities, to the Municipality in which the land is situate, rather than to the property owner. -

THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick formally opposes the reduction in size of the Drinking Water Source Protection Committee for the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Source Protection Program. -

THAT staff submit Warwick Township's Senior of the Year, Bev Quenneville, for the Provincial Senior of the Year Award. -

THAT correspondence 03-01 to 03-25, 03-29 to 03-31 and 03-33 be received and filed as information. -

THAT the proposed newsletter for March 2017 format and content, as per report CL-06-17, be approved. -

THAT Warwick Township Council waive the necessity for site plan control at 5350 Nauvoo Road (Kal-Tire) for the erection of three storage units (sea-cans); AND THAT any future developments on 5350 Nauvoo Road continue to be subject to site plan control and review. -

THAT staff meet with organizers of the Lambton College Legacy Project and advise them of the proposed plan outlined in report CAO-05-17; AND THAT if Lambton College is agreeable: 1. Staff proceed with implementing Lambton College’s Legacy Project at Watford Parkette, and the planting of the dedicated 10 trees at the Memorial Park in Watford, and 2. Staff select tree species that are consistent with soil type in Watford. -

THAT the minutes of the Public Works Committee meeting of February 15, 2017 be approved. -

THAT the minutes of the Special Council meeting of February 15, 2017 be approved. -

THAT the minutes of the Special Council meeting of February 23, 2017 be approved. -

THAT the Township of Warwick accept the bid for the farm land lease for the Industrial Park Farm Land and the Lagoon Farm Land from Bryan Aitken for $255 per acre. -

THAT Warwick Township Council move into an In Camera meeting of Council pursuant to Section 239 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, for the following reasons: ii) A matter regarding personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Section 239(2)(b); iii) A matter regarding proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - Section 239(2)(c); iv) A matter regarding labour relations or employee negotiations - Section 239(2)(d); vi) Advise that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose - Section 239(2)(f); -

THAT Warwick Township Council reconvene in Open Session. -

THAT the In Camera minutes from the regular Council meeting of February 6, 2017, the Development Committee meeting of February 6, 2017 and the Special Council meeting of February 23, 2017 be approved. -

THAT Jo MacKenzie be appointed as a member of the Warwick Township Cemetery Board; AND THAT staff bring forward an amendment to the Appointment of Public Members By-law for approval at the next regular Council meeting. -

THAT By-laws 12 to 16 of 2017 be read a first and second time. -

THAT By-laws 12 to 16 of 2017 be read a third time and finally passed. -

THAT Warwick Township Council hereby adjourns. -
