Regular Council

THAT the Council minutes from the December 12, 2016 regular meeting be approved. -

THAT the Accounts Payable in the amount of $1,023,379.61 be accepted for payment as presented and the GL report presented on January 16, 2017 be received and filed. -

THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick support the resolution passed by the Town of Fort Frances Council on January 9, 2017 to address the inequity in property taxation on railway right-of-way's collected by municipalities in Ontario. -

THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick support resolution 2016-338 passed by the Township of McMurrich/Monteith on December 5, 2016 to petition the Provincial Government to recognize the municipal fire service as critical infrastructure by including funding for Fire Department infrastructure as part of the Provincial Government's Infrastructure Strategy to Move Ontario Forward. -

THAT the Council of the Township of Warwick support the resolution passed by the Township of Zorra on December 6, 2016 to request the Province of Ontario to re-evaluate the structure of hydro in terms of access to delivery and implement structural changes to address the unfair practice of charging more for delivery to rural residents. -

THAT correspondence 01-01 to 01-17, 01-19 and 01-22 be received and filed as information. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves the Occupational Health and Safety Policy (HSP 1-1) for 2017; AND THAT the Mayor and Administrator/Clerk sign and seal the Policy; AND THAT staff post the Policy at all workplace locations. -

THAT Warwick Township Council approves Warwick Township’s 2016 Annual Accessibility Compliance Report, as presented in CL-01- 17. -

THAT staff request current members of some or all of the boards continue to serve in current positions AND THAT advertisement to fill vacancies would only be pursued should current members wish to resign. -

THAT report CL-05-17 - Proposed Communication Changes: Tax Newsletter and Council Highlights be approved; AND THAT a draft of the first newsletter to be mailed in February /March be provided to Council for approval prior to mailing; AND THAT the Administrator/Clerk prepares Council Highlights following each regular Council meeting and makes available online. -

THAT report P&D-01-17 – Community Improvement Plan Annual Report (2015/2016) be received and filed for information. -

THAT the minutes of the Public Works Committee meeting of December 14, 2016 be approved. -

THAT the minutes of the Development Committee meeting of December 19, 2016 be approved. -

THAT the minutes of the Public Works Committee meeting of January 11, 2017 be approved. -

THAT the proposal for the development of a mural for Council Chambers, at a cost of $3,000-$5,000, be

THAT the tender for Kilmer Drain Culvert 2016 be awarded to JLH Excavating for a cost of $9,078.25 plus HST (total cost of $10,258.42). -

THAT the 2017 Budget request from the Watford Warwick Horticultural Society be

THAT Warwick Township Council move into an In Camera meeting of Council pursuant to Section 239 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, for the following reasons: ii) A matter regarding personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Section 239(2)(b); iii) A matter regarding proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - Section 239(2)(c); -

THAT Warwick Township Council reconvene in Open Session. -

THAT the In Camera minutes from the regular Council meeting of December 12, 2016 and Development Committee meeting of December 19, 2016 be approved. -

THAT By-laws 1 to 7 of 2017, 4 of 2017 as amended, be read a first and second time. -

THAT By-laws 1 to 7 of 2017, 4 of 2017 as amended, be read a third time and finally passed. -

THAT Warwick Township Council hereby adjourns. -
